A man was arrested in connection with a mass shooting Friday at an Alabama high school football game that left five people injured, one seriously. Mobile police arrested 19-year-old Jai Scott and charged him with five counts of attempted murder, according to WKRG.
Police initially reported that four people had been shot, but adjusted the number on Saturday, according to the report. No reason has been published. The shots rang out shortly before 10 p.m. at Ladd-Peebles Stadium, where the Wolves of Vigor High School faced off against the mighty Lions of Williamson High School.
The game turned into chaos, with players on the field diving for cover and fans running from the stands, the video showed. At least two of the victims were children, police said. Metal detectors were installed in the stadium after a gunman opened fire at a game there in 2019, injuring 10 teenagers.
