“Just tell your loved ones that you love them before you go and do what you’re going to do during the day because you don’t know when your last day will be,” Mata said. “You don’t know if you’re going to come home after that long shift.”

The family of Alfredo Salcedo Cuevas has organized a GoFundMe page with 100 percent of the donations going towards the funeral expenses of his loved one.

All three of Reedley’s police officers have been placed on paid administrative leave. According to police, this is the City of Reedley’s first homicide of 2023. Reedley Police are handling the case related to investigations into the three victims of the shooting. The Fresno County Sheriff’s Office is supervising the officer involved in the shooting.

The suspect had recently been released from prison on Monday, a day before the shooting.
