In a statement, an Army official said:
“III Armored Corps is deeply saddened to learn of the death of Cameron Chamberlain, the spouse of Army Private Craig Chamberlain. Our deepest condolences to Cameron Chamberlain’s family and friends.”
However, as of now, Fort Cavazos has not released details about the cause and manner of Cameron’s death.
As authorities continue to investigate the spouse’s death, Craig Chamberlain’s mother told the Daily Beast on Friday that her son had been found alive days after Cameron’s death.

In a statement, Lt. Col. Zachary Brainard, commander of the 2nd Chemical Battalion at Fort Cavazos, said:
“We are grateful that Specialist Chamberlain was found. We will continue to provide him with the care and assistance he needs. We will also continue to work with CID as they conduct a thorough investigation into this matter.”
