An employee at the Open Pantry store told WKYC that Jordan had come in last night and asked to use the phone, and video surveillance footage of her shows her calling the police. The store owner told the outlet that Ella Jordan had said that she had been kidnapped.
In a notice requesting information about her disappearance, police said Jordan was in danger. Authorities said she went to get something from her car that was parked on the street and disappeared, leaving her purse and cell phone at her house.
Before she was found, Jordan’s father said it was “unusual” that she had gone missing and pleaded for her to return safely as he distributed missing persons flyers in the local area. ‘Lachelle missing, that’s unusual, and we’re going to find her. That’s what we’re going to do,’ she said. ‘ As a father, I want to say that if you have my daughter, give her back to me. That’s all I want.’
Crime Stoppers had also announced a $5,000 reward on Wednesday for information in this case “should it be determined to involve criminal activity.” Jordan, who is reportedly the mother of two children, disappeared just two days before she was due to appear in court in connection with a rape case against Michael Stennett.

He was charged last May with two counts of rape and one count of kidnapping, court records show. According to NBC News, the court filing said the state and defense asked for the pretrial hearing to proceed Monday because Jordan “has been out of sight and the state is trying to find her.”
The pre-trial hearing continued until May 30. Police have not named Stennett as a suspect in Jordan’s disappearance. News5 Cleveland reported that Stennett was working as a recreation instructor at the Zelma Watson George Recreation Center when he was accused of raping a co-worker inside his office on Aug. 10, 2021.
According to the outlet, he was not placed on leave from office until January 2023. Stennett’s accuser reached out to News 5 because she was outraged that he was still on the job and working with children. ‘If it were you, your mother, your sister, your aunt, your cousin, would you want the same person to continue having her job?’ she told the outlet. If he’s willing to do this to me, he could do it to anyone else.
She said that she left her job after the alleged incident. She couldn’t think. She couldn’t eat,’ she told her, ‘I was dying inside, to be honest.’
