Buckingham Palace is on lockdown after a man dumped suspected shotgun shells on the ground outside the royal residence, just days before Charles’s coronation. They said: ‘A man was quickly taken into custody by officers around 7 p.m. on Tuesday, May 2, after he approached the SW1 gates of Buckingham Palace and dumped a number of items, suspected to be shotgun shells, onto the Palace grounds.
These have been recovered and will be taken for a specialized examination. There have been no reports of shots fired or injuries. The man has been arrested on suspicion of possession of an offensive weapon and will be taken into custody.
