Two Wisconsin police officers and another person were killed in an exchange of gunfire at a traffic stop, according to authorities. The Wisconsin Division of Equity revealed that the event occurred on April 8, 2023 in Cameron and is still being examined.
A statement released by the division states that the episode occurred around 3:38 pm when an officer from the Chetek Police Division made a traffic stop. Thereafter, shots were exchanged and a Chetek police officer and a Cameron police officer were killed instantly.
At the time of writing, no information about the officials or the suspect has been released to the general population.
In a statement provided to WBAY, Barron County Sheriff Chris Fitzgerald said that people are generally not in danger and that they will release more information once the review is complete.
