Shelley Meyer is the wife of Urban Meyer, is an American football coach who is the head coach of the Jacksonville Jaguars of the National Football League (NFL). Meyer previously served as head coach of the Bowling Green Falcons from 2001 to 2002, the Utah Utes from 2003 to 2004, the Florida Gators from 2005 to 2010, and the Ohio State Buckeyes from 2012 to 2018. He retired from training in 2019 in at the end of the Rose Bowl, and he remained at Ohio State as an assistant athletic director and was also an analyst for Fox Sports, appearing weekly on their pregame show Big Noon Kickoff. In 2021, Meyer came out of his retirement to become the head coach of the Jaguars, marking his first job in the NFL.
Meyer was born in Toledo, Ohio, grew up in Ashtabula, Ohio, and attended the University of Cincinnati, where he played soccer as a defensive back. During his time at the University of Florida, he coached the Gators to two BCS National Championship victories, during the 2006 and 2008 seasons. Meyer’s winning percentage through the conclusion of the 2009 season (.842) was the highest. among all active coaches with a minimum of five full seasons on a Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) program.

Shelley Mathey Meyer is a registered nurse and wife of Jacksonville Jaguars coach Urban Meyer. The two met at a Sigma Chi Derby Day party at the university, where she was a member of Zeta Tau Alpha and was challenged to make a member of the fraternity smile without touching them. “This was so funny. I got a Playboy, the first and only one I ever bought, and I walked past the guys, opened the center page, and said, ‘Does he look like me?'” He told First Coast News.
Urban Meyer, who was standing by some stairs, caught her eye when she caught his. “So to the next guy that came, I said, ‘Who was that?'” She recalled. “He says, ‘UB’. She couldn’t believe that was someone’s name. Then the guy says, ‘His real name is Urban. I said,’ What kind of name is that? ‘ respect-for the names of various Popes and the legacy of soccer in her husband’s family of three generations.
The couple dated for five years before marrying in 1986. They have three children together, daughters Nicole and Gisela, and son Nathan.

A video of the new Jaguars head coach Urban Meyer went viral after it showed him sitting in a bar while a woman dances and grinds against him. Social media watchers were quick to empathize with his wife Shelley Meyer, but it appears she knew about the outing.
The 57-year-old NFL coach was apparently seen at his bar, Pint House, in Short North, Ohio, as he let loose among a large crowd of customers. While it is common for the opposite sex to feel comfortable in any establishment with loud music and alcohol, social media users noted that the woman in the video was not the head coach’s wife of 35 years.
Photos and videos of the alleged departure began circulating on social media on Saturday, October 2.

In the clip, Meyer appeared to have his arm in front of him to serve as a barrier between him and the woman, suggesting that the grinding was unwanted on his part, but that he did not want to be rude to the woman. Other photos showed him having a drink in hand as he took a photo with a woman.

However, while the video may be somewhat embarrassing for his family and the Jacksonville Jaguars, it appears that Meyer’s wife knew exactly where he was that night.
Shelley Meyer shared a photo of her husband at her bar in Columbus and commented that she in the meantime was taking care of her grandchildren. She even added the hashtag “friend deserved a night out”, which means that she really felt that her husband needed to vent, as she has probably been working hard since he took over the Jaguars.
