CBS News reported that family members said Versey Spell was a retired federal employee and worked as a receptionist at Oriole Park in Camden Yards. In a statement to WJZ, the Orioles said: In November 2022, 11 News reported that Versey’s sister, Bettea Brown-Wilson, spoke about her disappearance, mentioning that Versey had polio and lupus and was dependent on a walker.

In a CBS News report, Bettea Brown-Wilson said: 11 News reported that one of Versey’s daughters said she hopes she will find out who she did this to her mother. According to a PEOPLE report, authorities have yet to report a possible motive or identify any likely suspects and are still investigating the case.
