Lotus musician Throw Morris and his son, Charley, were reportedly missing after a kayak trip in Arkansas last week. A salvage mission was dispatched to retrieve the Denver artist and his child.

Morris and his 20-year-old son kayaked the 2023 Ride 16 on Beaver Lake and have not been heard from since. In any case, the 47-year-old drummer forgot to return from his outing and the Benton District Sheriff’s Office sent out a hunting party. Officials found a coat and two kayaks in the water, but saw no indication of the father-son pair.

“We all expected a blast, but as of now, the search for Throw and Charley has picked up. With the help of K9 groups, there is plausible space in the lake, but calculated difficulties such as temperature, weather and depth have prevented a recovery so far.”

The GoFundMe page was started by Jen Lamboy trying to help out the Throw Morris group with money. The page is also used to “post the latest reports on the progress of the search, family updates, and tidbits for the upcoming Festival of Life in Denver and various other social issues.”

Lamboy also referenced that people should help oust Morris’s family in any way they see fit. His statement came from: “The family is sorry and generally appreciates your help, but please be aware that there will be delays in correspondence due to conditions.” The note closes with a greeting of adoration and empathy.

There are previous updates of a similar case on the GoFundMe page. The most recent update taken down gives the explanation that the Morris family needs financial help:

He has been managing probate and collecting attorney fees while supporting his daughter Amelia financially and internally. The above update closes with a note:

“The reaction so far, in terms of gifts, has been amazing. In addition to helping with the costs mentioned above, the assets will go toward the costs of the burial service, treatment, and that’s just the beginning.”

Toss Morris will be fondly remembered by many whenever he is pronounced dead in the kayaking incident. The missing persons investigation is still ongoing, while the boy and father have not yet been found.
