They had to use the sword to compromise Billy Beam, but when the situation deteriorated and Billy Beam’s partner was available at the house, Washington and Andy killed the two men.

According to Andy, the stick he had cut was “Nealy Power”, the stick he hit Billy Beam with. Not long after the murder, Young, Andy, and Washington escaped in a hijacked vehicle. Andy’s iterated quip matched Melba Nealy’s record.

Renee Young also revealed that Connie made up the entire plan and that he was the one who asked them to do something against Billy Beam. In his 2002 preliminary, having entered the plea agreement by asserting against Connie, Andy escaped capital punishment and received life in prison without the possibility of parole at the McCormick Recovery Center in South Carolina.
