Gerald and Tara Weaver Wiki, Biography

Escabana of Michigan managed to open a GoFundMe account and raise money for the Weaver family, which recently suffered a tragedy that left two of its members dead. According to WLUC, Gerald and Tara Weaver were killed on January 27, 2023 in a head-on collision with a truck while on their way to their son’s basketball game.

The truck driver lost control of his vehicle while driving on US-2, crossed the center line and crashed head-on into the couple’s Toyota pickup truck.

While the driver was uninjured up to that point, following the initial collision, another car struck the truck from behind, causing the driver to suffer broken bones. While trying to escape the scene, a truck and a passenger car collided. Fortunately, no one was injured in the subsequent incident.

GoFundMe page will help Weaver children financially

The deceased couple, both 47, have three children together, Noah, Lukas and Sophia Weaver, who have been associated with Escanaba High School. Tara was an employee of the Delta-Schoolcraft Intermediate School District.

On January 30, Ian Valentine created a GoFundMe account with Noah as the beneficiary to help the victims’ children cover funeral costs and pay for food, gas and other necessary bills.

“This family will have a long road ahead of them and this Go Fund Me is to help ease their worries and focus on each other. Tara and Jerry Weaver were as sincere and honest as they come. They would help anyone at any time “.

As of writing, the page has made $144,252 of its $200,000 goal.

In addition to the GoFundMe page, various businesses, sports teams, and organizations have come forward to hold fundraisers and donate a portion of the proceeds to help the Weaver family.

While speaking to Fox UP, Sabrina Larson, a sales manager and marketing consultant for Delta Fence, said: “We’re in such a small town, but we’re also a family. So it’s really nice to see everyone working together and helping this family in any way we can.”

Other community organizations have also come forward to show the Weaver children that they are not alone. Drifter’s Family Restaurant manager Gwendolyn Naeyaert said:

“I can’t even imagine what they are feeling going through this. It’s a really important time not just for us but for the entire community to come together and do whatever it takes to help lift them up.”

The restaurant announced that they will donate all profits made between the hours of 2pm and 8pm on February 1, 2023 to the family. “We are a very close family here at Drifter’s and we know the family personally. We truly believe in helping our community where we can by coming together to support each other.”

No details regarding Gerald and Tara’s funeral have been announced as of yet.
