There seems to be hardly any room for Nicole Kidman fans to worry about as the actress is set to return to HBO once again for another exciting television series.
The veteran actress, who has won an Emmy in the past along with many other major awards in her illustrious career, will appear in a thriller based on Leïla Slimani’s novel The Perfect Nanny. Nicole Kidman will also serve as executive producer.
According to multiple sources, The Perfect Nanny was a highly sought-after project as various outlets were quick to sign a deal with the author. HBO managed to land it and has now employed some of its best in the process.
HBO plans to make it a limited series. PEN15 co-creator Maya Erskine will also star in the show while she works as a writer and producer for it.

HBO managed to land the project with Legendary Entertainment and is currently engaged in the task of turning the French novel into a limited series starring some of Hollywood’s greatest actors.
Slimani’s novel was originally released in France, titled Chanson Douce (Lullaby). The thriller follows the increasingly codependent relationship between a couple and their hired nanny.
The novel was originally published in 2016 and won the prestigious Prix Goncourt that same year, ultimately making it an international bestseller.
The logline for the upcoming HBO project reads:
“A seemingly perfect nanny goes to work for a couple with two young children, but her helpful personality eventually deteriorates into something sinister.”
This will be Nicole Kidman’s third big job with HBO after Big Little Lies and The Undoing.

HBO has yet to announce a date for The Perfect Nanny.
