Karachi, September 11 (IANS) – Pakistan continues to report more and more cases of dengue infection by the day, with frenzy and fear spreading among the general population as a shortage of fever medicines has also emerged, according to media reports.
In Pakistan’s Punjab, Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan, dengue has started to take a dangerous turn, Geo News revealed.
Karachi revealed one more death from dengue infection as of now, with more than 2,000 people affected in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa after excessive rains left breeding grounds for mosquitoes, according to the report.
Wards for dengue patients in Karachi medical clinics have been full. Punjab revealed 125 new cases of the mosquito-borne infection. Likewise, dengue claimed four lives in the territory, showed information from the Ministry of Health.
Meanwhile, a shortage of fever medicine continues in many regions of the country, with pharmacies in Punjab anticipating a resumption of stocks of the medicine in Punjab over the past month, Geo News detailed.
In Peshawar, the cost of a sheet of fever pills increased from Rs 17 to Rs 30.
