Punjab Police bust ISI-backed terror module

Chandigarh, September 8 (IANS) – In a significant disaster for the ISI-supported scare module mutually tasked with Canada-based criminal Lakhbir Singh, pseudonym Landa, and Pakistan-based thug Harvinder Singh Rinda, police he captured three of his close aides. , Punjab DGP Gaurav Yadav said on Thursday.

Yadav also expressed that about 25 assistants have been recognized, who are supporting them to complete criminal operations throughout the state.

The DGP said that the individuals captured include the major culprit for installing an improvised dangerous device (IED) in Shahabad in Haryana recently, who has been identified as Nachhatar Singh, assumed name Moti, an occupant of Tarn Taran. The other two denounced captured have been identified as Sukhdev Singh, false name Shera, and Harpreet Singh, nicknamed Happy.

Police have recovered an IED containing RDX weighing 1.5kg along with a detonator, two pistols, eight cartridges and a bicycle with no registration number belonging to him.

The DGP said that according to the first examination, the accused were found to be in direct contact with Lakhbir Landa, and were involved in coercion and cross-theft of powerful weapons, explosives and medicines.

The upgrade came amid the ongoing fight against drugs and thugs pursued by the Punjab police under the leadership of Prime Minister Bhagwant Mann to make express drug free and crime free.

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Ranjit Singh Dhillon said that following the data sources, the police set up a checkpoint and captured the three accused after recovering two weapons from their property.

Subsequently, on the revelations made by Nachhatar Singh, the police also recovered an IED hidden in the outskirts of the town of Rattoke in the Tarn Taran locality.

He said that the Landa-Rinda gang has an organization of around 40-50 individuals, of which the police have previously identified 25 agents and a manhunt is underway to capture them.
