‘What We Do In The Shadows’ EP Says Guillermo’s Family Will Return In Season 5

What We Do in the Shadows, FX’s Emmy-assigned mockumentary that follows four vampires and their conspicuous Staten Island abode, just wrapped up another charming and unappealing part of the series with an incredibly close season 4 finale. and dear.

Now reinvigorated for seasons 5 and 6, the series is set to begin creating new episodes in the coming days as fans tensely wait to see what happens to Nandor (Kayvan Novak), Laszlo (Matt Berry), Nadja (Natasia Demetriou), Colin Robinson (Mark Proksch), and Guillermo (Harvey Guillen) after pioneering creator Paul Simms and the creative team made colossal character changes in Season 4.

Among them was seeing Guillermo, a relative of Van Hesling, officially come out as gay while investigating his aborted relationship with Nandor, who spent much of Season 4 searching for a long-term partner. Guillermo’s sexuality was addressed during a mid-episode episode, when the unmistakable visited his family and wanted to discover that, not caring much about being associated with a scandalous vampire slayer, he really wants to become one.

“Once again, in season 5, we have an extraordinary episode where we see Guillermo with his family,” says Simms, adding that they are “relentlessly developing and opening up that world.” Fans have been given the opportunity to start with one season and then the next.

While attending ET, Simms and Proksch dive into key moments from Season 4, Baby Colin’s terrifying turn of events and where things go from here. [Warning: spoilers for the season 4 finale of What We Do in the Shadows.]

However, I have not the remotest idea, I found this season very charming. All things considered, part of it could have been that we shot two seasons in a single year, both under COVID programs. Also, I think there was, in a positive way, a bit of seasickness that set in and made us somewhat dumber and live it. You know how you get sticky when you haven’t fallen asleep? To be sure, imagine a whole year of that. I feel like that made this season what it was.
