Jason Momoa signaled the casual start of fall this week by unveiling a striking new look. The “Aquaman” star shared a video on Instagram Tuesday in which she should be visible mumbling about her mid-length hair. “I’ve never felt the breeze not too far away,” she teased herself, raising her short turns towards the camera.
However, Momoa’s hair change had a more serious point: the artist hopes to expose problems about the normal expense of single-use plastics. Momoa, who was born in Hawaii, said he was terrified to see the “desperate” proportion of debris in the ocean that engulfed his home state.
Momoa, who in 2019 shaved off his beard for similar reasons, recommended that fans choose reusable jars and aluminum options over plastic containers. In the caption accompanying the video, he promised to “be better at defending our area and oceans.”
Researchers measure that around 19 billion pounds of plastic debris enters the world’s oceans each year, making it the number one type of garbage found in the sea. In a 2017 meeting, creator normal Jenna Jambeck told HuffPost that this figure was on track to double by 2025, unless new steps were taken to stop littering around the world.
