It’s been a long road for Saul Goodman. First met quite some time ago on the second season of Breaking Bad, Bob Odenkirk’s legal guide quickly transformed into a much-loved fan who stayed around for the rest of Vince’s meth legend misbehavior experience. Gilligan.
Also, a short time later came Better Call Saul, a more humble and specific side-adventure series that put Odenkirk’s character at the convergence point of his own sublime one-man show, set as much as his main show.
As of now, after six super-acclaimed series, the show has come to an end, and Odenkirk has shared a sweet web-based video that spells the end of a significant period of time when he leaves Saul, aka Slippin, behind. ‘Jimmy McGill.
“Everyone has been getting some tips on how to say goodbye to Saul Goodman and Better Call Saul. Also, I’m terrible at responding to the request, as it’s really hard for me to be able to look at that experience, and even that person, with too much anxiety.
It’s an overabundance of moving parts, and they fit together too perfectly, and how it ended up working is confidential to me,” says Odenkirk, before going on to thank the show’s producers, their partners, and viewers. “The fans, thanks for allowing us an open door.
Since we came out of perhaps many people’s most cherished show, and we could have been looked down upon for simply putting in the effort to make a show. Anyway, we weren’t. We were allowed an open door, and preferably we won by it.” He even perceived the show to be “to a certain extent postponed from time to time,” adding, “but ultimately, if you focused, it was about tremendous, huge things inside people.”
