Lois Chartrand was a talented mushroom picker who had been selling mushrooms, fiddleheads, and wild berries for a long time. She has been collecting for quite some time. However, Lois unexpectedly disappeared while mushroom picking in the woods north of Smeaton. On August 4, she was last seen picking mushrooms near Hanson Lake Road.
Smeaton’s detachment, police dog services and RCMP Saskatchewan search and rescue groups are searching for Chartrand. As the rendering indicates, Chartrand is five feet tall and weighs about 90 pounds. He was recently spotted as a mushroom picker wearing a blue coat and jeans. It has been located about 219 kilometers east of Saskatoon.
Currently, the search for Lois is over, as the Saskatchewan RCMP reports they tracked down Chartrand’s body on Sunday (Aug 14), about a kilometer from the provincial district where a mushroom picker was last seen.

The search for a 74-year-old woman who had been missing in the woods east of Smeaton, Saskatchewan, ended when her body was found on Sunday. However, the specific reason for her passing has yet to be discovered.
Lois Chartrand’s group was found Sunday night near the RCMP portable war room, according to the woman’s family, who verified the disclosure to CTV News. RCMP said that she spent a lonely night in the woods, but that a pursuit group could not see her. Unfortunately, however, her body was tracked down in a wooded region.

As stated by the Saskatchewan RCMP, the manhunt was supported by many police K9 units, an Alberta RCMP helicopter, and the Saskatoon Police Service. In addition, there is the Aerial Search and Rescue Civilian Association, the Saskatchewan Public Safety Agency, Heli Recon, and the Saskatchewan Search and Rescue Volunteer Association.
After a search of more than a week, RCMP says the body of Lois Chartrand has been found.

With the help of others from the local area, the forest was searched. In addition, merchants and residents of the neighborhood sent food and materials to help in the investigation work. Where Chartrand disappeared there was no telephone administration, however, on August 5, around 6:00 am, the RCMP had radio contact for the last time with Chartrand. After that, they were unable to contact Chartrand.
Unfortunately, searchers found Lois Chartrand’s body on Sunday in a forest about a kilometer from where she was most recently seen. Lois Chartrand Family Member Lois Chartrand was a married woman, and her partner’s name was Lore Terry. Apart from this, there is no data about the other relative of hers.
Chartrand’s partner, Lorne Terry, said that she was an accomplished collector who knew all about the area where she evaporated. According to Terry, her partner is “very private” and she would be overwhelmed by the amount of consideration the event has generated.
The couple made money collecting wild berries, fiddleheads, and mushrooms. In any case, Lois has unfortunately passed away and the RCMP said in a press release on Monday that they have enlightened her family and are considering them during this terrible time. Currently, the family is interested in each and every person who helped during the 11-day search.
