Richards has been on semi-voluntary vacation since his capture. In March 2021, she began working as a preschool teacher at the Kindercare Learning Center in Dunedin, Florida. She was booked into the Pinellas County Jail on August 10 after officers charged her with legal abuse. In light of the occasion, Kindercare Learning Center reportedly said, “The prosperity of the children in our care is our primary goal. The detailed ways of acting of the educator do not address what our identity is or the orientation that we give to our teachers”.
