Devi’s dream comes true as Netflix’s “Never Have I Ever” reaches its third season. After all the ups and downs, conflicts and disagreements, she finally walks into Sherman Oaks hand in hand. She had a crush on Paxton for a long time. Devi loves her new position as the most popular girlfriend in school as things finally start to fall into place for her. However, this position has its own challenges. Devi needs to come to terms with many things as the story progresses and make some crucial decisions for her future. She takes a look at what happens in the climax of the third season and what it means for Devi. Spoilers follow.
Everyone at school knows about Devi and Paxton’s relationship. Everyone talks about them, which would have made Devi happy before, but when she learns that many find it hard to believe that someone like Paxton could date someone like Devi, it becomes a problem. This causes Devi to act in ways that damage her relationship with Paxton and feeds on envy. Meanwhile, Kamala tries to persuade Pati to let her date Devi’s teacher, Manish.
Rhyah introduces Nalini to a new friend, whose son, Des, catches Devi’s eye. They prove to be a great match for each other. Des is also the ideal mix of smart and beautiful, leading Devi to believe that her search for her ideal boyfriend may have come to an end for her. But Devi Vishwakumar never has it that simple. Ben continues to have feelings for Devi, Eleanor and Trent take their relationship seriously, and Fabiola and Aneesa experience new affections for each other.
Devi is courting a new guy in season three, as if having two love interests isn’t enough. Des is everything Devi has ever looked for, and the fact that he’s an American Indian makes it even better. Des shows up at just the right time to help her feel better after her breakup with Paxton. They connect immediately, and despite a few bumps in the road, they eventually meet.
Devi has fewer problems with Des than Paxton. She is able to keep the distance necessary to maintain their relationship because they attend different schools. She doesn’t see him hanging out with better-looking, attractive women, so she never feels resentful. This is also a new beginning because Devi has no reason to date another man while she is with Des, and Des is unaware of the time Devi was confined to a wheelchair. It all works out perfectly thanks to the clean slate and the fact that Des embodies everything she was looking for in Paxton and Ben.
Des’s mother, Rhyah, on the other hand, finds Devi’s problems “too much” and doesn’t want her son involved in them. Rhyah believes that Devi’s continued grief over her father’s death is a symptom of an unstable individual. She doesn’t want Des to get involved in Devi’s drama, particularly during her senior year of high school, when she will decide her fate. Des really likes Devi, but he can’t go against her mom, so he has to break up with her.
Devi is once again separated by two people, giving her a chance to step back and assess her situation. Her therapist informs her at the beginning of the season that if she’s not happy with herself, she won’t be able to find happiness elsewhere. This realization falls into it. It is interesting to see that one person has been a constant in her life during these difficult times. good
Ben had a warm place for Devi even though he was dating Aneesa at the time. He remains her friend even after she broke his heart by choosing Paxton over him. He watches over Devi at all times throughout the season despite dealing with a conflict in her own schedule. Even though he normally keeps her emotions to himself, he does care about her. However, this has little effect on his relationship with Aneesa, who leaves him when she learns that Ben is still in love with Devi.
Ben ends up being Devi’s only choice after Paxton and Des are eliminated, and it turns out that he had actually been the better candidate all along. Devi laments the fact that she’s still a virgin, but Ben taunts her by saying that he’ll give her “a free fuck” even if she’s on her deathbed. When she knocks on her door, she keeps her word. She had wanted to lose her virginity since the beginning of her story and now she feels ready to do it with Ben.
It’s certainly only natural that Devi would find things simpler with Ben after everything that’s happened. Although she felt some pressure to win over Paxton and prove his worth, she had always felt comfortable with Ben. She never had to hide, feel ashamed or even wonder who she was. Ben was more forgiving of her because he had seen her through her ups and downs. She had been looking for someone who would accept her for who she was all this time, but now she sees that Ben had been there all along. In the end, it seems like they can be together without any other crushes hanging over her heads when she knocks on her door.
Devi intends to maximize her last academic year because she only has one left. However, she considers leaving Sherman Oaks when it is announced that she has been admitted to the prestigious Shrubland boarding school. While she was initially hesitant to let Devi leave a year earlier, Nalini eventually accepts Kamala’s suggestion and they travel to Shrubland to explore her attractions. It seems to be the stage where Devi will finally feel at home.
Devi can’t help but think about the people she would leave behind even as Shrubland presents the opportunity to settle in a new neighborhood. Paxton will be moving to Arizona after getting the title from him. Since the rest of his friends are in their senior year of high school and have a lot going on in their lives, this is the last chance he gets to hang out with them before they split up and head off to various colleges. He also understands that he only has one year left with her mother before he leaves for college and stops seeing her on a daily basis.
Devi understands that life is unpredictable and anything can happen at any time after she unexpectedly lost her father. She believes that it is essential to take advantage of the time she has left and spend it with the people she loves because no one can predict what will happen in the future. Therefore, Devi chooses to stay in Sherman Oaks and focus on her qualifications to get into Princeton, even though Shrubland seems to be a lovely area and is certainly a great opportunity for her.
