The Governor at the time directed the pilots to transport the patients to any receiving hospital, even though Arvin had identified facilities to receive patients who had been evacuated from the Memorial.

Arvin also placed a call to Louisiana’s 911 system to emphasize the urgency of evacuating Memorial Hospital. He informed Sandra that a helicopter crew will be reinforced, according to a statement from an official. Since his communication was recorded as a request for assistance rather than a commitment to send helicopters, Arvin might have misconstrued the same thing. Arvin also contacted a private air logistics company, which scheduled helicopters to arrive in New Orleans to evacuate people.

Michael Arvin currently works for New Era Partners, LLC, a healthcare real estate investment and development company with offices in Grapevine, Texas, where he serves as Executive Vice President of the Strategy and Development Division.
