Keir Starmer ‘Work Shadow Minister’ Mike Amesbury leaves his team Mike Amesbury, who has shadowed the nearby government, said Thursday he would find work elsewhere to “put his voters first.”
The Cheshire MP for Weaver Vale said it was “an honor” to be in Starmer’s shadow office, but he was unable to complete the job with “the strength and request it requires”.
He praised Lisa Nandy, who is the secretary of the shadow house, for “constantly” fighting the Westminster Tories.
Amesbury said: “When enlargement hits, I’ll stick with individuals who just need a fair settlement for them and their families.”
Amesbury defeated a Conservative newcomer in the 2019 political race. He told Starmer he might want to see him in Downing Street, but he needed to put his voters first.
Accordingly, the head of the Labor Party said he was “sorry” about Amesbury’s choice to quit.
