Her significant other, Jim, is the owner of the “IntenCity Sports Training Academy” in Norman. Patty has kept quiet about her dating life. JT and DJ Gasso, her children, are both softball coaches, just like their parents.

In 1999, the famed University of Oklahoma won its third Big 12 Conference title in five years, but financial worries made it challenging to pursue her career afterward.

Jim, her other half, moved to California because he couldn’t find paid work in Oklahoma. Despite her partner’s move to California, Gasso remained in Oklahoma through the 2000 season.

After the public title in 2000, the University of Oklahoma gave Gasso a “huge pay raise,” and her companion had the option to return to Oklahoma.

With that fee, she maintains her title as the most generously compensated softball coach in school. Her initial fee has been expanded from $250,000 to $280,000.

In 2012, Gasso was inducted into the National Fastpitch Coaches Association’s Hall of Fame. She became the 1,000th head coach in Oklahoma history on March 15, 2015, as her group led East Carolina.

On June 6, 2017, Gasso and the Oklahoma Florida softball team were the last to smash in front of the public, earning their second public title in two years and their fourth overall.

On June 10, 2021, Patty and the Oklahoma softball squad crushed the state of Florida in the public title game, giving them the fifth public title overall.
