Sreedhara Panicker Somanath is an India-based aerospace design specialist and missile expert. He is currently the tenth chairman of the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO). He became the fourth Malayali to be named president after Ksturirangan. Somanath mainly worked on vehicle configuration, designs, base layout, primary elements and fireworks.
S. Somanath was born in July 1963 in Thuravoor, Cherthala Alappuzha, Kerala. His father’s name is Sreedhara Panicker and his mother’s name is Thankamma.

He tutored at St Augustine’s School, Aroor, and moved on from Maharaja’s College, Ernakulam, TKM College of Engineering, Kollam, Indian Institute of Science, Banglore, and Indian Institute of Technology, Madras. S. Somanath turned into a person of Vikram Sarabhai Space Center, Indian Space Research Organization in 1985.
He joined the Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle project in the first phase. In 2010, he became Associate Director of VSSC and Project Manager of GSLV Mk-III launcher. He was firmly in the footsteps of the deputy director of Propulsion and Space Ordinance until 2014.
Somanath became the director of the Liquid Propulsion Systems Center in Valiamala, where he worked from each 2015 until 2018. He started leading the pack in VSSC. He became the Administrator of India’s Space Research Organization (ISRO) in 2022.
S. Somanath sealed the deal with Valsala Somanath. Several have a girl named Malika and a child named Madhav. S. Somanath was born and raised in Thuravoor. He has delivered speeches on several Ted Talks about his life. Somanath was a huge movie fan and a person of the Film Society.
