A fourth Russian general by the name of Oleg Mityaev was killed in combat in the Ukraine. Ukrainian Interior Ministry consultant Anton Gerashchenko declared the death of Major General Oleg Mityaev on Telegram, sharing a photograph of him. Mityaev, 46, was in charge of the 150th Mechanized Rifle Division, which he had led since around 2020.
Mityaev had recently fought in Syria and in 2016 had been appointed administrator of a Russian army facility in Tajikistan. Mityaev is apparently the fourth Russian general to be killed by Ukrainian powers in 20 days. It is estimated that 20 officers are sent to Ukraine to order Russian soldiers to attack.
In just several weeks in early March, Ukraine revealed the deaths of Major General Andrei Sukhovetsky, a training general of the Russian 7th Airborne Division and deputy authority of the 41st Army, and Major General Vitaly Gerasimov, chief of staff of the 41st Army. army. Meanwhile, fighting continues in the stormed port of Mariupol, with 20,000 people fleeing the city in private vehicles, Ukraine’s Interior Ministry said on Wednesday.
Mariupol has been under virtually constant siege for more than fourteen days, as the port is seen as a critical target for Russian powers. Its inhabitants and the city authorities report that the city has been left without water or electricity and without the means to talk to the rest of the world. Food savings are running out, city officials have announced.
Ukrainian authorities estimate that 2,000 people have died there, and some 200,000 would benefit from human corridors that would allow them to empty the city.
